Rounds

BarTag is played in Rounds. One player opens a round and the other player must close it.

Open a Round

You Open a Round by sending a photo of your drink to your friend. The photo is known as your Proof of Life. The message must contain the name of the bar and the name of the drink.

So the message might be: at Sky Bar having a Martini with a photo of you holding a Martini at the Sky Bar. It’s that simple.

Close a Round

You Close a Round by returning your Proof of Life to the person who tagged you. Your Proof of Life must show you having the same drink. If the exact drink is not available, you must order two of a similar drink. If you do not close the round within 24 hours you owe your friend two of the drinks in the BarTag.

Proof of Life

Your “Proof of Life” is the photo you send to your friend. It should be picture of the drink with a recognizable part of you in the photo.

Be creative but consistent when taking your “Proof of Life” photo. Include your favorite piece of jewelry, flare, or tattoo as a “trademark” in your BarTag. And yes, you can include other people in the photo. Which brings us to the Mulligan

Mulligan

A Mulligan is a Get Out of Jail Free card. You earn a “Mulligan” if you buy a drink for someone while Closing the Round.

For this to count:

• You must have just met this person at the bar.
• Your new friend must be of the opposite sex.
• The drink must be the same as the “tagged” beverage.
• Include your new friend in the Proof of Life.

If a friend tags you and you can’t Close the Round in 24 hours, you can use your “Mulligan” to Close the Round.

Be Social

BarTag is all about getting out of the house, socialising, and having fun!

Hand your phone to stranger and ask them to take your photo so you can BarTag your friend. It’s an instant conversation starter, and for all you single people out there, it’s probably the best pick up line you’ll use all night!
